I am general surgeon with 11 years post-qualification experience. I am a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons in General Surgery, and I have a University Diploma from University of Strasbourg in Laparoscopic General Surgery.
I have been working for 11 years as a consultant general and laparoscopy surgeon, performing diagnostic and upper and lower gastrointestinal procedures, including diagnostic, therapeutic endoscopies like foreign body removal, banding of variceal bleeding and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy. My competencies in laparoscopy include cholecystectomy, intraoperative cholangiogram, resection and anastomosis of small bowel, laparoscopic repair of perforated peptic ulcer and laparoscopic appendectomy.
I have a high aptitude to learn, grasp, and articulate different concepts; giving me the ability to bring innovation to problems solving. I have a modestly excellent academic record and work ethic which is a testimony of my diligence at work and continued engagement by the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia, first at King Abdullah Hospital, Bisha and now, at Haql General Hospital. While at King Abdullah Hospital, Bisha, I also served as the Co-ordinator for Quality Management in Surgery Department and later as chairman of Utilization Committee of the hospital. Therefore, I am a strong candidate for this job if experience is required in hospital quality improvement and patient safety and hospital resources utilization. In terms of leadership, I also headed the department of surgery and casualty at my former job in Nigeria.
I am conscientious, hardworking and resilient and so, I can deal with difficult scenarios as and at when required. I also read the job description for this job, and I am sure that I can a fit for the job. The reason I am applying for the job and leaving my present job is only for the opportunity of handling new challenges. I am fluent in English and comfortable communicating in Arabic. I am a strong communicator and a good team player, and I can follow rules and procedures.
Outside of work I like attending webinars, keeping myself informed, and workout daily to keep physically fit and mentally alert., thereby maintaining concentration levels.
