Help foreign PhD students of the University of Strasbourg
The Alumni Relations Department calls upon its members to help the university’s foreign PhD students during the year that precedes their thesis defense.
A solidarity approach: a service in exchange for a donation
The idea is to offer to proofread theses for foreign PhD students. In exchange, the latter make a donation as a token of their solidarity towards young underprivileged students living in difficult circumstances. These donations go to the “Un Avenir Ensemble” Foundation of the Great Chancellery of the Legion of Honour and the University of Strasbourg Foundation.
This initiative was launched by Marc Haug, a University of Strasbourg alumni and former Director of Research at CNRS. It is regulated by a convention that defines the terms and commiments to be met by proofreaders and (PhD student) beneficiary.
