Subject: Integration of optical tweezers in photonic crystal structures
The work includes:
- Optical trapping of nanosize objects (<500 nm of diameter) using standard optical tweezers and photonic crystal cavities
- Optical bench design
- Fabrication of the photonic crystals in silicon and characterization of their performances
- Fabrication of microfluidic circuits for nanosphere injection in the photonic crystals ( <mm thick PDMS/glass membrane)
- Motion detection of the nanospheres
- Simulation of new trapping cavities design with comsol
Other activities include:
- Assistant and tutor in general physics and optics for bachelor students
